I am the clinical director of Northwest Psychology Consultants (established 2004) and of The Liverpool Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (appointed 2000).
I am a Registered Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Sciences.
I am also registered with the Health Professions Council.
I have utilised my Psychological and Psychotherapeutic experience working for the Criminal Justice System, Industry, The Emergency Services, Solicitors, Medico-Legal Services and Insurers dealing with civil liability matters.
In 1997 I sat on and advised the Government Committee whose task it was to formulate an all services response to terrorist incidents following the London Bombings.
I work as an external consultant for Educational Psychologists working with Educational Advisory Units.
I have worked with the Emergency Services advising on trauma and major critical incident protocol.
I provide training and workshops for mental health professionals on forensic and trauma related topics.
As well as Solicitor and Medico-Legal instructions, I receive referrals from Social Services, Local Educational Authorities, Educational Advisory Units and other institutions to treat individuals with ranging severity of personality and clinical disorders or behavioural and affective problems.
I have also undertaken treatment and assessment/report work with industrial/commercial companies to treat issues such as work and personal difficulties; PTSD after industrial incidents or work related attacks; and to provide reports on individual’s psychological status. As head of a Critical Incident Team, I provide treatment, assessment and thorough care for those involved with industrial incidents.
My private practice consists of referrals from Solicitors, GP’s, Psychiatrists, and self-referred individuals covering a wide range of difficulties and severity from personality and clinical disorders to high functioning individuals with interpersonal or affective issues.
